ENTRY TO THE MOBILIER NATIONAL COLLECTIONS - Paris - 2024
The Leyden sideboard: an emblematic piece by Bruno Moinard Éditions.
As we celebrate the tenth anniversary of our company, here is a new chance for us to rejoice: our Leyden sideboard has just entered the Mobilier national collections!
The Mobilier national, formerly the French “furniture repository of the Crown”, aims to perpetuate the exceptional savoir-faire of our country in the field of Decorative Arts.
A heritage site, it restores thousands of pieces of furniture and objects intended for the interior design of our public buildings. However, its mission also consists - for four hundred years! - to select the most iconic furniture of its time, to enrich its collections, and to promote, in the 21st century, the best of contemporary creation and design.
This institution, which maintains a constant dialogue between past and present, today recognizes a company which, since its beginnings, has followed the same type of approach:
Bruno Moinard Éditions creates furniture and lighting which are inspired by the rich history of French furniture, and uses French workshops for their manufacture heirs to a long tradition of excellence.
Our Leyden range is a work recently initiated around contemporary marquetry. A very ancient artisanal technique, marquetry here frees itself from the shackles of geometry, and combines wood species in a loose, free and fluid movement. The tops of our Leyden tables look like a large pop puzzle, while the sideboard in the series is a bit of a “3-D” version. Large curved pieces of walnut, oak and mahogany fit together perfectly, with lightness, elegant curves and invisible joints, to build a particularly daring piece of storage furniture. And very representative, too, of the prowess of our cabinetmakers, with whom we are happy and proud to share this award today.
We are confident in our belief that our furniture is destined to become timeless, and will stand the test of passing years without ever going out of fashion.
Thank you to Mobilier national who, with the acquisition of our Leyden sideboard, thus validates this approach at the heart of our entire creative process.
