Kyoto
W124 D55 H105 cm
Sober yet spectacular, this new storage piece is a true reflection of our work: a rigorous design that allows the chosen material—and the craftsmanship of our cabinetmakers—to fully express their character. Cedar, a wood traditionally used in the construction of Japanese houses, becomes here a remarkable playground. Meticulously assembled, stained and worked using a wide range of techniques, this noble and robust timber reveals its grain, knots and veining. Marine charts, shifting skies and swirling patterns emerge across the panels and drawers. Meanwhile, a luminous motif—half savannah, half Zen garden—contrasts with the austerity of the slats that partition the doors. Of course, as wood follows its own rules, no two Kyoto sideboards are ever exactly alike, yet none is entirely different either: each journey is unique.
